Sun-Turning, Dream-Turning Flower
Soon the trout lilies will be blooming in the Catskill Mountains. According to the Almanac of Persephone: “Their pretty yellow flowers follow the sun during the day and close at night, only to turn into dreams. Then they follow other kinds of suns during the night and open at daylight, becoming once again pretty yellow flowers. This goes on for a couple weeks, till they all go back to the place where pretty yellow flowers go when not being pretty yellow flowers.”
